Matchday 24 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League gets underway today with six fixtures lined up across the country.
With plenty at stake, from the title race to the battle for survival, we take a look at the key games and offer predictions based on current form, head-to-head records, team news and each club’s objectives.
Buhimba United vs Vipers SC, 4pm – Hoima
This fixture has only been played once before, with Vipers SC registering a dominant 4-0 victory in the first leg earlier this season.
The Venoms come into this match on the back of two consecutive draws and will be aware that anything less than victory could increase pressure on their title defence.
Prediction: Buhimba United 0-2 Vipers SC
Entebbe UPPC vs KCCA FC, 4pm – Bugonga
This is expected to be a tightly contested encounter. Entebbe UPPC claimed a 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, courtesy of Ambrose Kigozi, and KCCA FC will be determined to avoid losing both legs.
KCCA remain firmly in the title race and understand the importance of this fixture. However, the hosts are a formidable side under experienced tactician Abdullah Mubiru, a former KCCA head coach.
Notably, this fixture has never produced a draw, with KCCA FC winning five and Entebbe UPPC two of their seven previous meetings.
Prediction: Entebbe UPPC 0-0 KCCA FC
Police FC vs URA FC, 4pm – Kamwokya
URA FC continue their search for a first away victory of the season but face a resilient Police FC side that is difficult to break down.
The reverse fixture ended in a draw. Police FC come into this game after a 2-1 win over Mbarara City, while URA FC settled for a 1-1 draw with BUL FC in their last outing.
Prediction: Police FC 2-1 URA FC
Mbarara City vs Maroons FC, 4pm – Kamwenge
Mbarara City are fighting for survival, while Maroons FC are targeting a top-eight finish to secure a place in next season’s FUFA Super 8 tournament.
The hosts have not beaten Maroons since 2019, but with home advantage and their precarious position on the table, they will be highly motivated. Fellow relegation-threatened sides UPDF FC and Buhimba United also face difficult fixtures, adding further importance to this match.
Prediction: Mbarara City 1-0 Maroons FC
BUL FC vs UPDF FC, 4pm – Njeru
UPDF FC possess the ability to challenge BUL FC on any given day, but their defensive struggles and poor away form remain a concern. They have conceded 12 goals in their last 14 away matches and are yet to register an away win since November last year.
While UPDF are capable of finding the net, their inability to keep clean sheets could prove costly.
Prediction: BUL FC 1-1 UPDF FC
Express FC vs NEC FC, 8pm – Nakivubo
NEC FC head coach Badru Kaddu faces his former side Express FC, having joined NEC in November 2025.
NEC are unbeaten this year and have kept eight consecutive clean sheets in all competitions. However, they face an in-form Express side that has won its last three league matches.
Prediction: Express FC 1-3 NEC FC
