Express FC Vs NEC FC, 8pm – Nakivubo

Express FC will host NEC FC on Tuesday evening under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, in a Matchday 24 fixture of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Express head into the contest on the back of a 1-0 victory over UPDF FC in Bombo, secured by a late winner from Elvis Ssekajugo.

NEC FC also come into the game with momentum, having edged Maroons FC 1-0 in their previous league outing, courtesy of a decisive first-half strike from Richard Basangwa.

The reverse fixture between the two sides ended in a goalless draw in Lugogo.

Express have won their last three league matches, scoring seven goals and conceding just two, highlighting their improved form in recent weeks.

NEC, however, remain one of the most consistent sides, having not lost a match this year and currently on a 16-game unbeaten run across all competitions. They have also kept eight consecutive clean sheets, presenting a stern defensive test for the hosts.

Despite their recent attacking form, Express face a resilient NEC side that has proven difficult to break down.

Off the pitch, Express FC head coach Jimmy Kintu recently revealed that the club is facing financial challenges, with players and staff going unpaid for months.

Nonetheless, the team has continued to show resilience, grinding out positive results.

In terms of standings, a victory for NEC FC would see them climb to fifth place with 43 points, provided Entebbe UPPC fail to beat KCCA FC.

For Express FC, maximum points could lift them to eighth position with 32 points, depending on results involving Maroons FC and BUL FC.

Team news indicates that NEC FC will be without Jackob Okao and Emmanuel Ajo, while the rest of the squad is available for selection.

Express FC, on the other hand, will miss Gift Ali, with the remainder of the team fit and ready for the encounter.
