Sammy Ssebaduka scored the decisive goal as KCCA FC defeated Entebbe UPPC 1-0 in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League Matchday 24 fixture, keeping their title hopes firmly alive.

In the match played in Bugonga, Ssebaduka netted the only goal in the second half to secure maximum points for KCCA FC.

It was a closely contested encounter with few clear-cut chances, as both sides struggled to break each other down in the opening half, which ended goalless.

After the restart, the visitors remained patient, knowing that opportunities would be limited, and maintained focus both in attack and defence.

The breakthrough came in the 72nd minute when Ssebaduka capitalised on a well-delivered cross from Gavin Kizito.

The Entebbe UPPC goalkeeper rushed off his line, but Ssebaduka reacted quicker, heading the ball home to give KCCA FC the lead.

The Kasasiro Boys remained disciplined for the remainder of the match, defending resolutely to preserve their slender advantage until the final whistle.

This result continues a trend in meetings between the two sides, with no draw recorded in their eight encounters.

The victory sees KCCA FC maintain second place on the table with 51 points, four behind leaders Vipers SC, who secured a 2-0 win over Buhimba in Hoima.

Entebbe UPPC, meanwhile, drop to seventh position with 40 points following the defeat.

KCCA FC will next face Calvary, while Entebbe UPPC are set to take on Vipers SC in their upcoming fixture.
