Police FC came from behind to defeat URA FC 2-1 in a Matchday 24 fixture of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League played on Tuesday in Kamwokya.

Lawrence Tezikya and Bedia Ikamba Djuma were on target for Police FC, cancelling out Joshua Lubwama’s early goal to deny URA FC their first away victory of the season.

URA made a dream start, taking the lead just seconds into the match. Joshua Lubwama headed home from a Disan Galiwango corner after a lapse in Police’s defence.

The hosts responded well and equalised in the 16th minute through Lawrence Tezikya, who finished calmly to bring Police back into the contest.

URA had a golden opportunity to restore their lead in the 33rd minute when Isma Mugulusi was brought down inside the penalty area, prompting the referee to award a penalty.

However, Police goalkeeper Kasibante produced a brilliant save to deny captain Moses Aliro, and also stopped the rebound to keep the scores level at halftime.

In the second half, both sides pushed for a winner. URA goalkeeper Ochan made a crucial save in the 70th minute to deny Ikamba in a one-on-one situation.

However, Ikamba would not be denied for long, scoring two minutes later to complete the comeback and secure a second consecutive 2-1 victory for Police FC.

URA FC remain winless away from home this season and sit 11th on the table with 23 points.

Police FC, meanwhile, climb to fifth position with 41 points following the victory.

In their next fixtures, URA FC will visit UPDF FC as they continue their search for a first away win, while Police FC will travel to face Maroons FC.
