Ten-Man Express Hold NEC to Goalless Draw

Express FC finished with ten men as they held NEC FC to a goalless draw on Tuesday evening.

The match, played under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, saw substitute Glory Kisule sent off late on as Express battled to secure a point.

NEC FC were the better side for large parts of the game and came close to breaking the deadlock on several occasions.

Pius Obuya struck the crossbar, while goalkeeper Khassim Hafizi made key saves to deny both Obuya and Hakim Wandera.

Despite the pressure, Express remained resilient in defence to keep NEC at bay.

Drama unfolded towards the end of the match when Glory Kisule was shown a red card, reducing Express to ten men in the closing stages.

The result leaves NEC FC in fifth position with 41 points, while Express FC sit 10th with 30 points.

NEC FC extended their impressive defensive run to nine consecutive clean sheets in all competitions, while Express remain unbeaten in their last four matches, registering two wins and two draws.

In their next fixtures, Express FC will host BUL FC, while NEC FC will welcome Mbarara City.

Matchday 24 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League concludes on Wednesday, with Calvary FC hosting Kitara FC and Lugazi FC taking on SC Villa in Najjembe.
