Pascal Ngobi and Innocent Rwothomiyo scored a goal each as BUL FC defeated Express FC 2-0 at Nakivubo on Friday evening.

In a match played under Nakivubo floodlights, Rwothomiyo produced a stunning bicycle kick to add to Ngobi’s opener as BUL secured victory in Matchday 25 of the Uganda Premier League.

The first half produced few clear chances, with the main incident coming when Express FC midfielder Blanchar Mulamba collided with Hilary Onek.

Mulamba was immediately rushed to hospital by ambulance for further treatment following a head injury.

In the second half, the visitors broke the deadlock in the 64th minute through Pascal Ngobi, who also scored in BUL’s 2-0 win over Express at the same venue last season.

Ten minutes later, Express FC came close to an equaliser, but goalkeeper Yawe produced a fine save to deny the hosts.

Deep into stoppage time, substitute Innocent Rwothomiyo, who replaced the injured Ibrahim Orit in the first half, scored a spectacular bicycle kick to double BUL’s lead and seal the win.

The victory ends Express FC’s four-match unbeaten run and hands BUL FC their first win in five matches.

BUL FC maintain 8th place with 34 points, while Express FC remain 10th with 30 points.

In their next fixtures, BUL FC will host NEC FC on April 28, while Express FC will visit Mbarara City on the same day.

Elsewhere, NEC FC defeated Mbarara City 1-0 at Lugogo, with Hannington Sebwalunyo scoring the only goal of the match.
