Kibirige Banned as FUFA Issues Fines, Points Deduction in Latest Disciplinary Rulings
The FUFA Disciplinary Panel, sitting at FUFA House in Mengo, has delivered a series of rulings following incidents in recent domestic competitions.
Kibirige Meddie has been handed a two-match ban and a suspended fine of UGX 500,000 for misconduct during the StarTimes Uganda Premier League match between Vipers SC and Kitara FC on April 10, 2026.
The panel found that the goalkeeper’s conduct around the 25th minute of the game constituted serious foul play on Taddeo Lwanga.
Lugazi FC and club official Mr. Abdul Kawulu Mwanje have been jointly sanctioned with a fine of UGX 1,000,000.
This follows comments made about match officials after Lugazi’s 2-1 loss to Kitara FC on April 25, 2026.
The panel ruled that the remarks amounted to improper conduct and brought the game into disrepute.

In another ruling, Young Elephants Academy FC has been penalised with an immediate deduction of two points and two goals, in addition to a fine of UGX 500,000.
The sanctions stem from acts of hooliganism during their Big League fixture against Nebbi Central FC on April 26, 2026.
Meanwhile, the FUFA Referees Disciplinary Panel has also taken action against referee Ssemeere Asadu, handing him a three-month suspension from officiating.
The panel determined that although the referee saw the incident involving Kitara FC’s goalkeeper Kibirige and a Vipers SC attacker Lwanga during their April 10 clash, he misapplied the laws of the game.
