She Corporate FC duo Jesca Namanda and head coach Belyse Ininahazwe have been named the Best Player and Best Coach respectively for April in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League Monthly Awards.

The awards ceremony was held on Thursday at the main offices of Finance Trust Bank at Twed Plaza.

Namanda was named Player of the Month after beating Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC striker Latifah Nakasi and St Noa Girls FC’s Marion Serenge to the accolade.

The forward recorded four goals and two assists during the period and was also named Player of the Match in three games.

She scored and assisted in She Corporate FC’s 2-1 victory over Makerere University, registered a goal and an assist in the 3-2 win against Rines SS WFC, and scored a brace in the 2-0 victory over Kampala Queens FC in Njeru.

Meanwhile, head coach Ininahazwe beat Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC head coach Ayub Khalifah and Makerere University coach Fred Ndawula to win the Coach of the Month award.

Ininahazwe guided She Corporate FC to four victories in four matches during the month.

Her side defeated Makerere University 2-1, overcame Rines SS WFC 3-2, beat Kampala Queens FC 2-0, and edged Olila High School WFC 1-0.

The impressive run lifted She Corporate FC from second place to the top of the league standings.

Ininahazwe won the award for the second consecutive month and became the first coach to claim the accolade four times in a single season.

She Corporate currently leads the table with 50 points and is now just two matches away from clinching the league title.

Both the Player of the Month and Coach of the Month winners received an accolade and a cash prize of UGX 500,000 each.

Meanwhile, Ismail Mulangwa of New Vision and Sharifah Nambi of NTV were named the best journalists for April.

Each journalist received UGX 250,000 from the league sponsors, Finance Trust Bank.
