Bugembe, Kyeyune on Target as Entebbe UPPC Deal Blow to UPDF’s Survival Hopes
Thursday Results and Fixture
Entebbe UPPC 2-0 UPDF FC
KCCA FC vs Maroons FC, 8pm – Lugogo
——————————————————————————
Issa Bugembe and Muhammad Kyeyune scored a goal apiece as Entebbe UPPC defeated UPDF FC 2-0 in the Uganda Premier League on Thursday.
The match, which had been scheduled to kick off at exactly 4pm, was delayed by 22 minutes due to the late arrival of match officials, but the setback did not stop the hosts from securing victory at Bugonga.
Playing in wet conditions following rainfall, Entebbe UPPC made a bright start, with Bugembe giving the hosts the lead just three minutes into the game. His strike proved to be the only goal of the opening half.
UPDF FC returned stronger in the second half in search of an equaliser, but it was the hosts who found the next goal of the game.
Muhammad Kyeyune, who had come on in the 79th minute for Julius Poloto, scored 10 minutes later to seal victory for Entebbe UPPC.

At full-time, Entebbe UPPC walked away with all three points and completed a league double over UPDF FC, having also won the reverse fixture 1-0.
The victory moves Entebbe UPPC into sixth place with 46 points, just five points behind the top four.
For UPDF FC, they remain five points above the relegation zone, but that gap could be reduced to three points if Buhimba United Saints defeat Express FC on Friday.
Entebbe UPPC will next face Maroons FC away from home on May 12, while UPDF FC will host KCCA FC the following day.
Later on Thursday, KCCA FC will host Maroons FC under the floodlights at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
