Match Officials Confirmed for Vipers, Kitara Uganda Cup Semifinal Return Leg

Friday, May 15
Vipers SC vs Kitara FC, 7pm – Kitende

———————————————————————————————

Referee George Olemu will take charge of the Stanbic Uganda Cup semi-final return leg between Vipers SC and Kitara FC on Friday evening at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Hakim Mulindwa has been appointed first assistant referee, while Ronald Katenya will serve as the second assistant referee.

Dick Okello will be the fourth official, with Ali Tomusange assigned as the referee assessor for the highly anticipated encounter.

The two sides played to a goalless draw in the first leg in Hoima, leaving the tie finely balanced ahead of the decisive return leg.

Another goalless draw at full-time will see the contest decided by penalties, while any scoring draw will send Kitara through to the final on the away goals rule.

Vipers goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu, who produced several crucial saves in the first leg, is expected to retain his place ahead of Alfred Mudekereza.

Kitara FC, meanwhile, welcome back goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige after he completed his suspension that ruled him out of the club’s last two Uganda Premier League matches.

The Stanbic Uganda Cup now represents Kitara’s only remaining chance of silverware this season after their recent defeat to Express ended their Uganda Premier League title hopes.

The winner on aggregate between Vipers SC and Kitara will face either SC Villa or URA FC in the final.

SC Villa carry a 2-0 advantage into their return leg against URA FC, which will be played on Saturday.
