URA FC secured their first away victory of the Uganda Premier League season after beating already relegated Buhimba United Saints 3-0 on Friday.
Joseph Ssemujju scored a brace while Godfrey Ssekibengo added another goal to seal URA’s comfortable victory.
Buhimba came into the game already relegated and had earlier on Friday been sanctioned by Federation of Uganda Football Associations with a UGX 3 million fine, a deduction of three points and three goals for failing to honour their fixture against NEC FC on matchday 28.
From the opening whistle, URA showed intent and their pressure paid off in the 20th minute when Ssekibengo opened the scoring to put the visitors ahead.
Six minutes later, Ssemujju doubled the lead to hand URA a comfortable 2-0 advantage heading into halftime.
In the second half, Buhimba defended well for long periods before Ssemujju struck again deep into added time to complete his brace and seal a 3-0 victory for the Tax Collectors. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
The victory marked URA’s first away win of the season and also ended a run of nine league matches without victory. They concluded the campaign in 11th place with 31 points from 30 matches.
For Buhimba, the defeat capped off a disappointing season as they finished bottom of the table with 12 points and suffered relegation from the Uganda Premier League.
The 2025/26 Uganda Premier League season will officially conclude on Saturday, May 23, with seven matches set to kick off simultaneously at 3PM.
Champions Vipers SC will host Express FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, where they will officially celebrate their back-to-back league title and eighth championship in the club’s history.
