Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa Fulfils UGX 300 Million Title Promise to Vipers

Vipers SC president Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa has fulfilled his pledge of awarding the team UGX 300 million for winning the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League title, the club has confirmed.

Dr. Mulindwa made the promise in March this year when he visited the team camp following the conclusion of the first round of the league season.

He assured the players that they would receive UGX 300 million if they successfully defended the league title.

At the same visit, he also rewarded the squad with UGX 50 million for finishing top of the table at the end of the first round.

Notably, the official prize money awarded to the Uganda Premier League champions is UGX 60 million.

On Saturday, May 23, Vipers SC sealed the title in style with a 2-0 victory over Express FC on the crowning day. Goals from Karim Watambala and Gusto Mulongo secured the win for the Venoms.

Vipers finished the campaign with 67 points and remained unbeaten on the pitch throughout the season, especially at home. Their only loss came via a boardroom decision after forfeiting a first-round fixture against Kitara FC.

In a statement shared by the club, Vipers wrote:

โ€œWhen Club President, Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, visited camp in March 2026 after the first round of the Uganda Premier League, he made a promise.

He pledged UGX 300 million if the lads defended the title. He also gave them UGX 50 million for finishing top in the first round.

Promise made, promise kept and fulfilled.โ€

The 2025/26 Uganda Premier League triumph marks the eighth league title in the history of Vipers SC since their maiden championship in the 2009/10 season.

The Venoms will now represent Uganda in next seasonโ€™s CAF Champions League.
