OFFICIAL: FUFA Changes Venue for 2026 Uganda Cup Final
Saturday, May 30
Kitara FC vs SC Villa, 3pm — FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The 2026 Stanbic Uganda Cup final has officially been moved from FUFA Stadium Kadiba to the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Initially, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations had confirmed FUFA Stadium, Kadiba as the venue for this year’s final between Kitara FC and SC Villa.
However, Kitara later wrote to FUFA protesting the decision, arguing that the venue gave SC Villa an unfair advantage since the Jogoos have been using Kadiba for their Uganda Premier League matches.
FUFA has now officially changed the venue, with the final set to be played on the same date but at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
To reach the final, Kitara FC eliminated Vipers SC on the away goals rule. The first leg ended goalless in Hoima before the two sides played to a 1-1 draw in Kitende, sending Kitara to the final.
For SC Villa, they eliminated URA FC with a 3-0 aggregate victory as they continue their pursuit of a 10th Uganda Cup title.
Meanwhile, Kitara are chasing their second Uganda Cup crown after defeating NEC FC in the 2024 final at Wankulukuku to secure their maiden title.
It has now been 11 years since SC Villa last won the Uganda Cup after defeating KCCA FC 3-0 in a replayed final at Nakivubo Stadium.
Should SC Villa defeat Kitara in the final, they will move level with KCCA FC and Express FC as the joint most successful clubs in the competition’s history with 10 titles each.
For both SC Villa and Kitara, the Uganda Cup remains their only opportunity to end the season with silverware following Vipers SC’s Uganda Premier League triumph.
