Okello, Chemutai Headline Fortebet Real Stars Monthly Awards
Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Okello and Olympic medalist Peruth Chemutai were among the standout winners at the Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards for May.
The awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, June 2, at Nanjing Restaurant in Kololo, where four athletes from different sporting disciplines were recognized for their outstanding performances during the month of May.
In football, Allan Okello emerged winner ahead of SC Villa striker Charles Lwanga and Uganda Cubs captain Owen Mukisa.
The Young Africans midfielder earned the accolade after an impressive month in the NBC Premier League, where he scored seven goals for the Tanzanian giants. Okello was represented at the ceremony by his agent, Sultan Atubo.

In athletics, Peruth Chemutai was recognized following her remarkable victory in the women’s 3000m steeplechase at the Diamond League meeting in Xiamen, China.
The Ugandan star clocked 8:51.06 to defeat reigning world champion Winfred Yavi and claim first place.
Netball player Christine Namulumba won the award in her category after beating Joan Nantumbwe of Police Netball Club and Margaret Bagala of KCCA Netball Club.
Namulumba played a key role in helping Prisons Netball Club win the 2026 East Africa Netball Championship held in Kenya.
In chess, Alvin Muhirwa emerged winner ahead of Jacinta Mbabazi and Ronald Wabwire.
The talented youngster was rewarded after winning a gold medal at the African Junior Chess Championship (U16 category), which was hosted in Uganda.
The Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly Awards continue to recognize and celebrate outstanding Ugandan athletes across various sporting disciplines.
