Four Regional Clubs Battle for SC Villa Forward

Four clubs from across East Africa are reportedly interested in signing SC Villa forward Hassan Mubiru ahead of the 2026/27 season.

According to Kawowo Sports, Kenyan giants AFC Leopards are currently leading the race for the highly-rated attacker.

This website understands that Tanzanian sides Simba SC and Singida Black Stars, as well as Rwandan champions APR FC, are also monitoring the player’s situation and could make moves for his signature.

Mubiru has one year remaining on his contract with SC Villa. Should the two parties fail to agree on an extension, the record Uganda Premier League champions may be forced to consider selling him to avoid losing him on a free transfer next year.

The skillful forward was one of SC Villa’s standout performers during the 2025/26 campaign. He registered four league goals and three assists and earned a place in the official Uganda Premier League Team of the Season.

He played a key role in helping SC Villa finish third in the league and reach the Stanbic Uganda Cup final, where the club finished runners-up.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that midfielder Elvis Ngonde is set to leave SC Villa and join KCCA FC ahead of the new season.

SC Villa are also facing uncertainty over the future of striker Charles Lwanga, whose contract situation remains unresolved amid growing interest from several local and foreign clubs.
