FUFA Confirms Moment of Silence for Cissy Nantongo

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that a moment of silence will be observed before all FUFA competition matches scheduled for this weekend in honour of former She Corporate FC captain Cissy Nantongo.

The tribute will be observed before matches played on June 6 and 7 as the football fraternity continues to mourn Nantongo, who passed away this Wednesday.

In a statement released on Friday, FUFA said:

“OBSERVING A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE LATE CISSY NANTONGO

5th June 2026

A moment of silence will be observed before all FUFA competition matches scheduled for this weekend, 6th–7th June 2026, in honour of the late Cissy Nantongo of She Corporate FC.

FUFA extends its deepest condolences to Cissy’s family, She Corporate FC, teammates, and the entire football fraternity.

May her soul Rest in Eternal Peace.

It Is Our Game, It Is Our Country.”

Nantongo was laid to rest on Friday in Mpigi District and will always be remembered for her contribution to Ugandan football.

The FUFA Big League will climax this weekend while the FUFA Women’s Cup has reached the quarter-final stage.

Kampala Queens set to face St Noa, She Maroons taking on Amus College, Lady Doves meeting UCU Lady Cardinals, and Kawempe Muslim FC playing Wakiso Hill WFC.
