In a statement, URA FC expressed its condolences to the player and his family during this difficult period.
“With profound sorrow, the URA FC family joins our player Joseph ‘Bagi’ Ssemujju and his loved ones in mourning the passing of his beloved father, the late Sekilanda Benon, who departed this life today at Mulago Heart Institute.
“We extend our deepest condolences to Bagi, his family, relatives, and friends during this difficult time. May they find strength and comfort as they navigate this painful loss.”
The club further confirmed that the burial of the late Sekilanda Benon will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Masulita Mulume Village along Hoima Road.
“Bagi, please know that your entire URA FC family stands with you in this trying moment. May the soul of Daddy Sekilanda Benon rest in eternal peace,” the statement added.
Ssemujju has been one of URA FC’s key players in recent seasons, and messages of sympathy are expected to continue pouring in from teammates, fans, and members of the football fraternity.
