URA Eye Move for Former KCCA FC Attacker
Uganda Premier League side URA FC have shortlisted former KCCA FC attacking midfielder Samson Andrew Kigozi as a potential transfer target, Sports Light Uganda understands.
According to reliable sources, Kigozi is expected to leave UPDF FC, with URA FC among the clubs interested in securing his services.
After spending two years with the Army side, the attacking midfielder is reportedly ready for a new challenge, and several top-flight clubs are monitoring his situation ahead of the 2026-27 season.
However, URA FC are expected to face stiff competition from fellow Uganda Premier League side NEC FC, who are also interested in signing the talented playmaker.
Kigozi is widely regarded as one of the most technically gifted attacking players in the league and is capable of making an immediate impact at either club.
His versatility is one of his biggest strengths, with the ability to operate as an attacking midfielder, winger, or false nine, providing coaches with multiple tactical options.
The former Wakiso Giants player brings a wealth of experience, having featured in the Uganda Premier League for seven seasons. During that period, he has made 126 league appearances, averaging 18 matches per season.
Over the course of his career, Kigozi has played for UPDF FC, Police FC, KCCA FC, Maroons FC, and Wakiso Giants FC.
With the transfer window approaching, a battle for the midfielder’s signature could emerge as clubs look to strengthen their squads ahead of the new campaign.
