VIDEO: URA CEO Munaaba Dismisses Moses Aliro Exit Rumours

URA FC Chief Executive Officer Allan Munaaba has dismissed reports suggesting that club captain Moses Aliro is set to leave the Tax Collectors.

In a video shared on the club’s social media platforms on Wednesday evening, Munaaba clarified that Aliro remains under contract and is still a URA FC player.

“Aliro is still contracted and is a URA FC player,” Munaaba stated.

His comments come amid widespread speculation that the club had internally communicated to the winger that he was no longer part of its plans for next season.

Munaaba also provided updates on the status of several other players at the club.

“Justine Opiro has a long-term contract with us, Amis Bwangani left the club and joined Iganga, and Denis Kisiriko has extended his contract with the club,” he added.

The URA CEO further stressed that official information regarding player contracts and transfers should come from the club’s leadership.

“At URA FC, we do our due diligence and respect the contractual obligations of players. I am the custodian of the documents, and I can always provide any official information you may need,” Munaaba said.

However, despite addressing several player-related matters, Munaaba did not comment on the club’s coaching situation following reports that head coach Hussein Mbalangu had been relieved of his duties.

Meanwhile, URA FC have confirmed contract extensions for three players as part of their plans for the future. Denis Kisiriko, Godfrey Ssekibengo, and Innocent Kisolo have each signed new three-year contracts with the club.

Following a disappointing 2025-26 Uganda Premier League campaign in which the Tax Collectors finished 11th with 31 points, URA FC have begun reshaping their squad as they aim to challenge for honours in the upcoming season.
