FUFA Big League Golden Boot Winner Agrees Terms with NEC
Uganda Premier League side NEC FC have reached a verbal agreement with 2025-26 FUFA Big League top scorer Isaac Gumperom, Sports Light Uganda understands.
According to reliable sources, the Young Elephants FC striker has accepted terms to join NEC FC ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Gumperom enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the FUFA Big League, scoring 17 goals to finish as the league’s top scorer and claim the Golden Boot award.
The 24-year-old forward is highly regarded for his movement in the final third, aerial ability, intelligent positioning, and clinical finishing in front of goal.
NEC are keen to strengthen their attacking options as they look to mount a stronger challenge for major honours next season.
During the 2025-26 Uganda Premier League campaign, Samuel Ssekamate and Muhammad Kagawa Senoga finished as NEC’s joint top scorers with seven league goals apiece.
The addition of Gumperom is expected to boost the club’s firepower and provide greater competition in attack.
NEC finished fifth in the Uganda Premier League standings last season and were eliminated by eventual champions Vipers SC in the quarter-finals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Should the deal be completed, Gumperom will become one of NEC’s notable additions as the club continues preparations for the upcoming campaign.
