Zanzibar 0-3 Uganda

The Uganda U17 Women’s National Team, the Teen Cranes, secured their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 CECAFA U17 Women’s Championship with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Zanzibar in their second Group B match.

In the game played at KMC Stadium on Tuesday afternoon, strikes from Shadia Nabirye, Justine Ayerango and Immaculate Acen, sealed all three points for Uganda.

The Teen Cranes dominated proceedings from the opening whistle but were repeatedly denied by an inspired Zanzibar goalkeeper who made several crucial saves to keep her side in the contest.

However, Uganda eventually broke the deadlock in the 44th minute Shadia Nabirye put the ball into her own net.

Sheryl Botes’ side continued to dictate play after the break and doubled their advantage in the 58th minute through Immaculate Acen.

Justine Ayerango then put the result beyond doubt with a late goal to complete a convincing 3-0 victory for the Teen Cranes.

The win takes Uganda to six points from two matches and guarantees their place in the semi-finals with one group game still to play.

The Teen Cranes will return to action on Thursday, June 18, when they face South Sudan in their final Group B fixture.

The top two teams from Groups A and B advance to the semi-finals of the competition.
