Giants Maintain Perfect Start at Wakiso Zone USSSA Ball Games II Qualifiers

Traditional netball powerhouses St Mary’s Kitende, Buddo Secondary School, Kawanda Secondary School, and Madina Islamic Secondary School maintained perfect starts as the Wakiso Zone USSSA Ball Games II qualifiers continued in Mwererwe.

The qualifiers, which got underway on Wednesday, June 17, will determine the schools that will represent Wakiso Zone at the USSSA Ball Games II National Championships scheduled for next month at Sacred Heart Secondary School in Gulu.

A total of 36 schools are competing in the netball qualifiers, divided into six groups, with teams battling for places in the knockout stages and qualification slots to the national championships.

St Mary’s Kitende showcased their pedigree with dominant victories over Amity Secondary School and St Charles Secondary School, while Buddo SS also registered convincing wins against Mt Olive and St Andrew Secondary School.

Kawanda Secondary School maintained their unbeaten run with victories over Fairway Secondary School and St Gyavira Secondary School, while Madina Islamic continued their impressive form with commanding wins against St Charles, Amity Secondary School, and Kisozi High School.

As the competition enters its decisive stages, action resumes on Thursday, June 18, with teams aiming to secure qualification to the knockout rounds before the tournament concludes on Friday, June 19.
