UPL Giants Lead Race for Midfielder Jeromy Kirya
Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC are in advanced talks to sign midfielder Jeromy Kirya ahead of the 2026/27 season.
This website understands that Kirya has already held discussions with KCCA FC officials over a potential move to Lugogo.
However, reliable sources indicate that Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC, Kitara FC, and NEC FC are also monitoring the midfielder’s situation and remain interested in securing his signature.
Kirya was among the ten players released by BUL FC at the end of the 2025/26 season and has since attracted interest from several top-flight clubs.
The soft-spoken midfielder featured in 22 league matches last season and scored four goals for the Eastern Giants.
Known for his composure on the ball, Kirya is capable of operating both as a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder.
His versatility, work rate, and technical ability make him one of the most sought-after free agents in the league.
He is renowned for his ball retention, box-to-box energy, ball-winning ability, recoveries, chance creation, and eye for goal.
Over the past four seasons, Kirya has established himself as one of the most consistent midfielders in the Uganda Premier League, earning admiration for his performances and leadership in midfield.
With Joel Sserunjogi having reportedly joined Vipers SC, Brian Ijara departing for a move to Europe, and Bright Anukani attracting interest from Kenyan champions Gor Mahia, Kirya fits the profile of the midfielder KCCA need and could become a key figure in their squad next season.
KCCA FC finished second in the Uganda Premier League and were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup last season.
Having gone seven years without winning a major trophy, the Kasasiro Boys are expected to strengthen their squad significantly as they seek to challenge for silverware in the 2026/27 campaign.
