FUFA Confirms Kick-Off Dates for 2026/27 Women’s Leagues

The 2026/27 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League will kick off on September 12, 2026, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed.

FUFA also announced that the 2026/27 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Elite League will begin two weeks later, on September 26, 2026.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC are the reigning champions of the FUFA Women Super League, while the current FUFA Women Elite League season is yet to conclude.

As part of preparations for the new season, FUFA will hold the FUFA Women Super League and FUFA Women Elite League pre-season workshop and review on July 8. Submission of club licensing documents will commence on July 10.

Physical club inspections will be conducted between August 1 and August 10.

FUFA further confirmed that Women Super League clubs must submit all physical club licensing documents by August 10, while Women Elite League clubs have until August 15 to complete the process.

Regarding coaching qualifications, head coaches in the FUFA Women Super League must possess a CAF B Licence or a higher qualification, while head coaches in the FUFA Women Elite League must hold at least a CAF C Licence.

Assistant coaches in the Super League are required to have a minimum of a CAF C Licence, while those in the Women Elite League must possess at least a CAF D Licence.

In addition, chief executive officers of FUFA Women Super League clubs must hold a FAMACO II certificate, while CEOs in the FUFA Women Elite League are required to possess a FAMACO I certificate to be eligible to manage their respective clubs.
