Okello Hits Hat-Trick as Young Africans Move Within One Win of NBC Premier League Title

Ugandan attacker Allan Okello scored a superb hat-trick as Young Africans defeated TRA United 3-0 in the NBC Premier League on Saturday to move within one victory of retaining the league title.

Okello opened the scoring in the 27th minute before doubling Young Africans’ lead from the penalty spot in the 51st minute. He completed his hat-trick with his third goal in the 60th minute, sealing an impressive performance for the Tanzanian champions.

The Uganda Cranes international has now registered 14 league goals and five assists in 22 NBC Premier League appearances this season.

Okello is also firmly in the race for the Golden Boot, sitting just one goal behind Azam FC striker Salum Toto, who leads the scoring charts with 15 goals.

Elsewhere, Simba SC kept their title hopes alive with a 2-0 victory over Singida Black Stars, maintaining the gap at two points behind leaders Young Africans.

Simba will be hoping Young Africans slip up on the final day to have a chance of snatching the championship.

Young Africans will travel to face JKT Tanzania in their final league fixture on June 30, while Simba SC will host KMC.

A victory for Young Africans in their final match will confirm them as the 2025-26 NBC Premier League champions.
