Inside Kawempe Muslim Ladies’  Glamorous End-of-Season Dinner

The 2025-26 Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League champions, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, hosted a glamorous end-of-season dinner on Saturday, June 27, at Mbogo Arena in Kawempe to celebrate a successful campaign.

The colourful event attracted a host of football stakeholders, including current and former players, members of the technical team, school administrators, journalists, fans and other invited guests.

Former Kawempe Muslim stars Florence Nazizi and Phionah Nabulime served as the event’s emcees, adding excitement and entertainment throughout the evening.

Guests were treated to food, drinks, entertainment and a cake-cutting ceremony as the club celebrated winning its sixth League title.

Kawempe Muslim clinched the championship on the final day of the season, finishing with 52 points, one ahead of runners-up She Corporate FC.

Several individuals were recognised for their outstanding contributions during the title-winning campaign.

Club top scorer and the league’s joint top scorer, Latifah Nakasi, who netted 15 league goals, received the Goal Machine Award.

Assistant captain Agnes Nabukenya was presented with the Winning Captain Award in recognition of her leadership throughout the season while club captain Shakirah Nyinagahirwa recovered from injury.

Nabukenya also enjoyed an impressive campaign on the pitch, registering 10 league goals and seven assists.

Players including Hadijah Babirye, Sharifah Nakimera, Saidat Namwanje, Asia Nakibuka, Samalie Nakacwa and Juliet Adeke were also recognised for their contributions to the club’s successful season and received monetary appreciation envelopes.

The club also honoured members of its support staff. On behalf of the media team, Ssaka Solomon received a monetary appreciation envelope, while Justine Namalwa represented the medical department, Ali Kimbugwe represented the drivers, and Akirewo Mukiibi represented the welfare department as they were all recognised for their dedication and service.

At the conclusion of the event, every member of the team received a monetary envelope as a token of appreciation for their contribution to the championship-winning season.

Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC will now turn their attention to continental football, where they will represent Uganda at the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers, scheduled to begin on August 22 in Rwanda.
