KCCA Complete Signing of Maxwell Owachgiu
Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have officially unveiled defender Maxwell Owachgiu as their latest signing ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The club confirmed the acquisition on Sunday evening through its official social media platforms.
Owachgiu joins the Kasasiro Boys from Buhimba Saints United on a two-year employment contract and has already linked up with the squad for pre-season training.
The defender reunites with head coach Brian Ssenyondo, under whom he played at Kitara FC. Owachgiu captained Kitara to their historic 2024 Uganda Cup triumph during their time together.
Speaking after the signing, head coach Brian Ssenyondo expressed his delight at bringing the defender to Lugogo.
“Maxwell is a player whose work ethic and discipline I know inside out. He brings so much to this side, including leadership qualities. Signing him on a two-year deal guarantees us a proven winner who understands the pressure of competing at the highest level in Ugandan football.”
Owachgiu also shared his excitement after completing the move.
“Joining KCCA FC is a huge step in my career, and it is an honour to wear this shirt. I have played against this club many times, and I know the standards of excellence the fans demand. Reuniting with some players I have played with before, as well as Coach Brian, is fantastic. I am here to work hard, defend the badge, and win with my teammates.”
Owachgiu becomes KCCA FC’s third official signing of the current transfer window, following the arrivals of midfielder Elvis Ngonde and striker Charles Lwanga.
