KCCA Land Sserunjogi’s Replacement
Uganda Premier League giants KCCA FC have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Yunus Sibira from Kitara FC, this website understands.
According to reliable sources, Sibira has agreed personal terms and signed a two-year employment contract with the Lugogo-based club, with an official unveiling expected soon.
The midfielder is set to replace Joel Sserunjogi, who recently left KCCA FC to join reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC.
Following the departures of both Sserunjogi and Brian Ijara, KCCA identified Sibira as their top target to strengthen the defensive midfield position ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Sibira was among the standout midfielders in the Uganda Premier League last season, playing a key role as Kitara FC won the Uganda Cup and finished fourth in the league standings.
The industrious midfielder featured in 29 of Kitara’s 30 league matches, scoring two goals and providing one assist. With five seasons of top-flight experience, he brings valuable quality and consistency to Brian Ssenyondo’s side.

Known for his ball-winning ability, interceptions, aerial presence, composure in possession and game management, Sibira is expected to add balance and stability to KCCA’s midfield.
KCCA have already unveiled midfielder Elvis Ngonde, striker Charles Lwanga and defender Maxwell Owachgiu during the current transfer window.
The club also secured the services of experienced defender Hassan Muhamud, who recently signed a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Lugogo until 2027.
Sibira has previously featured for Kitara FC, Buhimba United Saints, Mbarara City FC and Gaddafi FC, among other clubs.
