Nicholas Wadada Leaves Vipers After Contract Expiry

Vipers SC have officially confirmed the departure of experienced right-back Nicholas Wadada following the expiry of his contract with the club.

The Venoms announced Wadada’s exit on Friday, bringing an end to his second spell at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

In a brief farewell message, the club thanked the defender for his service and wished him well in the next chapter of his career.

“Thank you and farewell, Nicholas Wadada. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.”

Wadada becomes the sixth player to officially leave the Uganda Premier League champions during the current transfer window. He joins Bashir Ssekagya, Grant Matsiko, Taddeo Lwanga, Alfred Mudekereza, and Livingstone Mulondo on the list of departures.

The experienced full-back rejoined Vipers in 2024 on a two-year contract, which expired at the end of the 2025-26 season.

Although Vipers retained the Uganda Premier League title last season, Wadada found playing time hard to come by, making only three league appearances throughout the campaign.

Before rejoining the Venoms, Wadada featured for clubs including Azam FC, Ihefu FC, and Singida Black Stars, earning a reputation as one of Uganda’s most experienced attacking full-backs.

Sports Light Uganda understands that Wadada is in advanced talks with Uganda Cup holders Kitara FC, who are keen to sign him as they strengthen their squad for the 2026-27 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Vipers are expected to announce more departures and new signings in the coming days as they continue reshaping their squad ahead of the new season.
