Vipers Discover 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup Opponents
The draw for the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup group stage was conducted on Friday in Kigali, Rwanda, with Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC discovering their opponents.
The draw ceremony was held at Amahoro Stadium, with former Rwanda international Haruna Niyonzima serving as the draw assistant.
Vipers have been placed in Group A alongside hosts APR FC, Kenyan giants Gor Mahia, and Garde Républicaine of Djibouti.
Defending champions Singida Black Stars were drawn in Group B with Simba SC, Jamus SC of South Sudan, and Mogadishu City Club of Somalia.
Last season’s runners-up Al Hilal have been placed in Group C alongside Rayon Sports, Tusker FC, and KVZ of Zanzibar.
The winners of each group will qualify directly for the semi-finals, accompanied by the best-performing second-placed team across the three groups.
The tournament will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from July 24 to August 7.
Vipers are expected to use the regional tournament to assess their squad, build team chemistry, and prepare for the CAF Champions League preliminary rounds as well as the upcoming domestic season.
