KCCA FC vs NEC FC
Venue: Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo
Kick-off: 7:00 PM

KCCA FC will face NEC FC in the highly anticipated FUFA Super 8 final at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, on Tuesday evening.

Since the competition was introduced in 2018, KCCA FC have reached the final twice, in 2018 and 2019, and Tuesday’s encounter will mark their third appearance in the championship match.

It has been an impressive campaign for KCCA under the stewardship of head coach Brian Ssenyondo.

The Kasasiro Boys began their campaign by eliminating BUL FC 4-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals before edging Kitara FC 1-0 in the semi-final, courtesy of an early strike from Saidi Mayanja.

The tournament has also provided KCCA with an opportunity to assess their new players. Midfielder Yunus Sibira has been a key figure in the middle of the pitch, while Elvis Ngonde and striker Charles Lwanga have also been given valuable playing time.

Against NEC, KCCA will be targeting their first piece of silverware under Ssenyondo as they look to build confidence ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season.

NEC, on the other hand, will be aiming to secure their first trophy under head coach Badru Kaddu.

It has been another impressive campaign for Kaddu’s side, who have reached the Super 8 final for the second consecutive season. They lost last year’s final to SC Villa at Kadiba.

NEC began this year’s campaign by eliminating Entebbe UPPC 3-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals before producing an impressive 3-1 comeback victory over SC Villa in the semi-final.

Dangerous forward Richard Basangwa has been one of NEC’s standout players, scoring three goals so far in the competition. He will be a key figure as the Bugolobi-based side takes on KCCA in the final.
