Mbarara City Set to Unveil Experienced Goalkeeper

Uganda Premier League side Mbarara City are set to unveil experienced goalkeeper Saidi Keni.

The Western Giants are expected to officially unveil Keni on Monday, August 24.

Sports Light Uganda understands that the goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract with the club.

Keni becomes the latest addition to a Mbarara City squad that has already welcomed Ivan Bogere, Brian Aheebwa, Rashid Mahad, Solomon Okwalinga, Iran Musinguzi, Hassan Akoragye, Eric Tumwine and Rogers Mugisha.

The Francis Mugerwa-coached side will open their 2026/27 Uganda Premier League campaign away to Police FC on Saturday, August 29.

Keni is expected to play a key role in strengthening the squad as Mbarara City pursue their ambition of challenging for the league title this season.

The experienced goalkeeper has previously featured for AS Vita, Shashemene, SC Villa and BUL FC, among other clubs.
