Vipers JT Stage Comeback to Retain FUFA Juniors League Title Unbeaten

Vipers Junior Team staged a remarkable comeback to defeat URA Junior Team 3-2 in the FUFA Juniors League final, retaining the title and completing the season unbeaten.

In the final played on Sunday, September 27, at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, Ashraf Kyakuwa, Jonah Tugume and Trevor Mubiru scored for Vipers Junior Team, while Emmanuel Obula and Anderson Ssesazi netted for the Young Tax Collectors.

Just seven minutes into the game, Emmanuel Obula put URA Junior Team ahead, capitalising on a well-calculated pass from Pascelo Kayiwa.

Vipers Junior Team responded in the 28th minute through Ashraf Kyakuwa, who restored parity to send both teams into the half-time break level.

Early in the second half, Jonah Tugume put Vipers JT ahead before Trevor Mubiru extended the lead to 3-1.

Despite falling two goals behind, URA Junior Team fought back and pulled one goal back with 13 minutes remaining, but they could not find the equaliser to force the match into a penalty shootout.

At full-time, the young Venoms celebrated a hard-fought comeback victory, retaining the championship after a thrilling final at Wankulukuku.

Throughout the season, Vipers Junior Team played 21 games, winning 20 and drawing once to claim the championship unbeaten.
