Uganda Cranes defeated Sebastian Desabre’s DR Congo 2-0 in a friendly match on Friday, October 2.

In the game played at FNB Stadium in South Africa, teenager James Bogere and Kelvin Owusu Boateng scored a goal each to hand Uganda victory over DR Congo.

James Bogere opened the scoring in the early stages of the first half with a cool and clinical finish to give Uganda the lead.

In the second half, Kelvin Owusu Boateng doubled Uganda’s advantage with a composed finish.

Abdoulaye Sissako produced a superb turn in the middle of the field before making a driving run and delivering a well-weighted pass into the box. Boateng calmly finished the opportunity to score his first-ever goal for the Uganda Cranes.

When the referee blew the final whistle, Uganda emerged victorious with a convincing 2-0 win.

Uganda and DR Congo will meet again on Sunday, October 4, in another friendly match as the two sides conclude the international break.
