The Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 16 continues today with SC Villa hosting Maroons FC at FUFA Kadiba Stadium in a knockout encounter scheduled for 8pm.
Maroons have been boosted by the return of five players ahead of the clash. Striker Marvin Oshaba, Raymond Walugembe, Apollo Kagogwe, Brian Nkuubi, and Ivan Mayanja have all recovered from injuries and are available for selection, strengthening the visitors’ squad.
However, the Luzira-based side will be without key players Ivan Asaba and Emmanuel Obua, with the latter still sidelined as he awaits surgery.
For SC Villa, Merrickzedek Mangeni and Geoffrey Gaganga will miss the fixture, while the rest of the squad is available for selection.
New signing defender Andrew Okumu is expected to make his debut. He previously impressed against Maroons in the 2024 Uganda Cup while featuring for Iganga United.

This season, SC Villa and Maroons have each registered one win against the other in the Uganda Premier League. Notably, SC Villa secured victory in their most recent meeting at the same venue.
As per the competition format, if the match ends in a draw after normal time, it will be decided by a penalty shootout to determine which team advances to the quarterfinals.
In the previous round, SC Villa eliminated BUL FC on penalties following a 2–2 draw, while Maroons edged Kumi United 1–0 to reach this stage.
KCCA FC, Vipers SC, NEC FC, Kitara FC, and Happy Boys Kagaba have already secured their places in the quarterfinals.
