Express FC comfortably defeated Red Devo FC to complete the quarterfinal line-up of the 52nd edition of the Stanbic Uganda Cup.

In a match played under the floodlights at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo om Friday evening, Kenneth Kimera scored a brace, while Henry Wamala and Herbert Asiimwe each added a goal to send Express into the last eight.

Express delivered a dominant performance from the start, with the game’s first major chance arriving in the 20th minute when Mikidad Ssenyonga struck the crossbar.

The Red Eagles eventually broke the deadlock in the 35th minute through Henry Wamala, who tapped in from Blanchar Mulamba’s well-delivered cross.

After the break, Express maintained control, but their second goal only arrived two minutes from full time when substitute Kenneth Kimera calmly slotted the ball into the net.

Kimera struck again within a minute to make it 3-0, completing his brace in style after coming off the bench.

Another substitute, Herbert Asiimwe, sealed the emphatic victory with a goal in stoppage time (90+3) to confirm Express’ place in the quarterfinals.

Express join Vipers SC, Kitara FC, Happy Boys Kagaba, KCCA FC, NEC FC, and URA FC in the quarterfinals.
