Former Express FC players George Senkaaba and Emmanuel Wasswa were on target as Kitara FC eliminated Express FC to reach the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Easter Sunday.
Senkaaba scored a brace while Wasswa added another goal as Kitara secured a commanding 3-0 victory in a match played in Butema.
Before kickoff, a minute of silence was observed in honour of the late Banura Peter Araali, the LC5 Chairperson of Kikuube District.
Kitara broke the deadlock in the 27th minute through George Senkaaba, who scored against his former club. Five minutes later, Express made a tactical change, introducing striker Kenneth Kimera for midfielder Blanchar Mulamba, but Kitara maintained their lead going into halftime.
Early in the second half, Senkaaba doubled the advantage within the opening eight minutes, putting Kitara firmly in control. Emmanuel Wasswa, another former Express player, sealed the victory with a third goal five minutes from time.

The emphatic 3-0 win sends Kitara into the semifinals of the Stanbic Uganda Cup, joining URA FC and Vipers SC, who have already secured their places in the last four.
The final semifinal spot will be decided on Monday, April 6, when SC Villa visits Happy Boys Kagaba in Kassanda.
It should be noted that the winner of the competition will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile, Vipers SC head coach Ivan Minnaert was in attendance as Kitara eliminated Express. Vipers are set to host Kitara this Friday in the Uganda Premier League.
