URA FC and BUL FC played out a 1-1 draw on Thursday evening in a StarTimes Uganda Premier League encounter at Nakivubo.

Bruno Bunyaga cancelled out Richard Okello’s opener as the two sides shared the points.

The match produced few clear-cut chances, with the deadlock broken in the 36th minute when teenager Richard Okello put the visitors ahead.

Denis Kisiriko failed to clear a cross inside the box, allowing Okello, who was unmarked at the edge of the area, to fire a powerful shot past goalkeeper Muhamad Ssekkeba.

URA head coach Hussein Mbalangu made two first-half changes, introducing Norman Namanya and Godfrey Ssekibengo in place of Isma Mugulusi and Moses Waiswa.

The substitutions had an immediate impact after the break, as URA equalised just three minutes into the second half.

Ssekibengo rose to head the ball inside the box, and Bruno Bunyaga capitalised with a well-taken finish to make it 1-1.

Despite the early second-half equaliser, URA were unable to find a winner and had to settle for a draw when referee Felix Nuwagaba blew the final whistle.

The result leaves BUL FC in eighth place with 31 points, while URA FC remain 11th with 23 points.

In their next fixtures, BUL FC will host struggling UPDF FC on April 21, while URA FC will visit Police FC on the same day.

Matchday 23 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League continues on Friday, with KCCA FC hosting Kitara FC at Lugogo.
