Uganda Cup
FUFA has confirmed the date and venue for the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal draws.
“This is to inform you that the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinal draws will be conducted on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Plascon Headquarters starting at 9:00 a.m.,” reads a circular issued to the clubs.
Vipers SC, SC Villa, NEC FC, KCCA FC, Kitara FC, Happy Boys Kagaba, URA FC, and Express FC are the eight teams that have qualified for this stage.
The matches are scheduled to be played between April 4 and 5 in a single-legged format.
In the event of a draw in normal time, the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.
Transfer News

Vipers SC forward Usama Arafat is reportedly on Simba SC’s wishlist ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
Last week, senior sports journalist Clive Kyazze reported Simba’s interest, and sources indicate the Tanzanian club is serious about securing his signature.
Arafat joined Vipers in September 2025 on a three-year contract. He has since scored eight goals and provided five assists in the Uganda Premier League, making him one of the club’s standout performers this season with 13 goal contributions.
School Sports

St Noa Girls secured a 44–43 victory over St Mary’s Kitende in the girls’ basketball final at the USSSA Wakiso Qualifiers.
Maxine Anyango scored the decisive late points and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
The victory marks St Noa’s third consecutive title in the competition.
University League

Bugema University were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Kampala University in the first leg of the quarterfinals.
Gideon Nsubuga gave the visitors the lead in the first half before Jonah Muwadda equalized late in the second half.
Kampala University’s Simon Peter Owawu was sent off in the 54th minute while his side was still leading 1–0.
In today’s fixture, Uganda Martyrs University will host Muteesa I Royal University in Nkozi.
Benjamin Ochan

Former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan is reportedly set to join SC Villa’s youth setup as part of the coaching staff.
According to Kawowo Sports, Ochan is expected to take up the role of goalkeeping coach.
CAF / Senegal

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed that it has not received any appeal from Senegal.
In a statement, CAS indicated that no submission has yet been filed by the Senegalese Football Federation.
The federation has until April 7 to lodge an appeal regarding the outcome of the AFCON final.
Tragedy

Five students from Iki-Iki Senior Secondary School died in a road accident while traveling to the USSSA Games in Budaka.
The accident occurred in Mbale, where five students died on the spot, while several others sustained injuries and were rushed to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital. The truck driver was arrested and is currently in police custody.
