Uganda Cup: SC Villa to Miss Key Players Against Happy Boys Kagaba

SC Villa will be without two key players ahead of this afternoon’s crucial Uganda Cup quarterfinal clash against Happy Boys Kagaba in Kassanda.

Strikers Frank Ssebufu and Charles Lwanga are both unavailable for the encounter. Ssebufu is suspended, while Lwanga is sidelined with a hand injury, leaving SC Villa to face a resilient Happy Boys Kagaba side without the duo.

In their absence, Andrew Otim, Hassan Mubiru, Patrick Jonah Kakande, and Ibrahim Kassinde are expected to step up and shoulder the attacking responsibility.

Happy Boys Kagaba booked their place in the quarterfinals after eliminating Six O’Clock 5-3 on penalties following a goalless draw in normal time.

SC Villa, on the other hand, needed a late goal from Andrew Otim to secure a narrow victory over Maroons and advance to this stage.

The record league champions are currently nine points behind Uganda Premier League leaders Vipers SC, making the Uganda Cup a key target as they aim to end the season with silverware.

It should be noted that Happy Boys Kagaba are the only lower-division side remaining in the competition.

The winner of today’s encounter will join Vipers SC, URA FC, and Kitara FC in the semifinals.

The winner of the Stanbic Uganda Cup will represent Uganda in the CAF Confederation Cup.
