Uganda’s Kitende Learns Opponents Ahead of CAF Schools Championship Finals in Harare

The Confederation of African Football has this afternoon conducted the draws for the CAF Africa Schools Football Championship Finals, which will be held in Harare, Zimbabwe, from 2nd to 10th April 2026.

The draws, held at the Multimedia Offices in Harare, were conducted by tournament legends Amanda Dlamini of South Africa and host nation legend Esrom Nyandoro.

In the girls’ category, hosts Zimbabwe were drawn in Group A alongside 2023 runners-up Morocco, Zambia, and Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Defending champions Ghana were placed in Group B together with Guinea, Tanzania, and Burkina Faso.

In the boys’ category, Uganda have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Zimbabwe, Morocco, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Defending champions and CECAFA representatives Tanzania are in Group B, where they will face Zambia, Senegal, and Benin.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, followed by a third-place playoff and the final.

Action will kick off on Monday, 6th April, as teams compete for the championship title.

During the Easter period, teams and local communities will also participate in CAF’s capacity-building programs, while continuing their preparations for the tournament.

The winner of the championship will receive USD 300,000, the runner-up will earn USD 200,000, and the third-place team will take home USD 150,000.

Aligned with CAF’s strategic focus on youth development, all prize money awarded is strictly ring-fenced for non-professional football projects aimed at enhancing both education and football infrastructure.
