Kitara FC will host Buhimba Saints on matchday 21 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in the Bunyoro Derby at Hoima City Stadium.

The derby will mark the first-ever competitive match at the newly constructed Hoima City Stadium.

Kitara come into this fixture on the back of a narrow 1-0 away victory over Mbarara City, secured by Edson Agondeze’s first-half goal.

Buhimba Saints, on the other hand, suffered a 1-0 defeat to BUL in their previous match.

However, they will be hoping to replicate their first-round performance against Kitara when the two sides meet on Friday.

Buhimba defeated Kitara 1-0 in the first leg earlier this season.

Interestingly, the goalscorer from that match will now be facing his former side after joining Kitara during the mid-season transfer window.

Kitara FC head coach George Lutalo remains optimistic about his side’s chances of securing victory over Buhimba.

“We’ve transformed since that first-leg loss. With our fans behind us at this historic venue, we’re ready to go for the three points,” said Lutalo.

Buhimba’s form this year has been challenging. In the nine league games they have played in 2026, they have won once, drawn twice, and lost six times.

Kitara, meanwhile, have been in impressive form. In their 10 league matches played in 2026, they have won seven and drawn three.

Over their last 15 league games, Kitara have lost only once, drawn three times, and won 11 matches.

A victory for Kitara would move them into second place with 43 points, just four points behind league leaders Vipers SC, who will host Calvary on Saturday.

Buhimba also have plenty at stake. A win would lift them out of the relegation zone and into safety with 18 points. It would also push Mbarara City into the relegation zone if the latter fail to win their match.
