UPL: Police vs NEC – Team News, Stats and Interviews

Police FC will host NEC FC at the Kiira Road Arena in Kamwokya on Friday afternoon in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Heading into the fixture, Police sit in sixth position with 35 points, while NEC FC are seventh on the table with 31 points.

Police come into the match after defeating SC Villa in their previous outing, while NEC FC played out a goalless draw with Entebbe UPPC.

In the first-round meeting between the two sides, late goals from Umar Kasumba and Charles Bbaale secured a 2-2 draw.

Police FC and NEC FC have faced each other three times in the league, with all the encounters ending in draws.

Since the start of the year, NEC FC remain unbeaten in the league, while Police FC have managed only one victory in their last five matches.

“I think we are in better shape compared to the previous games. We also recognize that NEC have been performing well, especially in their last four to five matches. The NEC we are facing now is different from the one we played in the first round because they have added several players.”

Joseph Dhata sustained a fracture to the ulna and remains sidelined.

Joseph Seremba picked up a right ankle sprain and is still recovering.

Oluka suffered a right medial collateral ligament sprain combined with a medial meniscal injury.

Hudson Mbalire sustained a left foot contusion and has already begun his structured return-to-play programme.

Ajo Emmanuel is sidelined with a medial collateral ligament sprain and an associated medial meniscal injury.

Midfielders Otto Daniel, Ivan Eyamu, Jemba Abud Shakur Ramsey, and Kizito Ryan Figo are all injured.

Benon Tahomera is suspended after accumulating three yellow cards, while Deus Bukenya returns to the squad.

Derrick Maviiri has resumed light training but will not be available for this match.
