━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

St Mary’s Kitende defeated Kyadondo SS 3-0 in the third-place playoff to claim the bronze medal at the 2026 USSSA Boys’ Football Championship in Lira.

Jordan Tugume, Ashiraf Kyakuwa, and Nabiru Kajumba were all on target as Kitende produced a dominant display to finish the tournament on a high note.

For a school that entered the competition targeting the championship, St Mary’s Kitende will still take pride in securing a bronze medal finish as well as qualification for the FEASSA Games.

Kitende were eliminated in the semifinals after losing to Amus College 4-1 on penalties following a goalless draw in normal time.

Kyadondo SS, meanwhile, saw their impressive campaign come to an end after suffering semifinal defeat to Bukedea Comprehensive. The school had earlier knocked out defending champions Buddo SS in the quarterfinals.

The final of the 2026 USSSA Boys’ Football Championship is scheduled to take place later this afternoon between Amus College and Bukedea Comprehensive.

Both finalists are chasing their maiden USSSA boys’ football title.

It should also be noted that all four semifinalists at this year’s championship have secured qualification to represent Uganda at the FEASSA Games.
