Kitara FC are targeting a historic progression in the CAF Confederation Cup as tickets for their first preliminary round return leg against Mogadishu City Council go on sale.

The Ugandan representatives secured a 2-1 advantage in the first leg on Sunday, September 6, and will now look to complete the job in front of their home supporters at Hoima City Stadium on Saturday, September 12.

During a press briefing held at Grand Imperial Hotel in Kampala, Kitara FC president Deo Kasozi Akiiki confirmed that tickets for the decisive encounter are now on sale at designated selling points and online.

“We appreciate our fans from across the entire country for supporting us in the first leg, where we defeated Mogadishu City Council. We invite them to witness our return leg as we make history.”

“Our 2-1 comeback win was attended by 15,601 fans. For the return leg, we hope for more as we release tickets to the market. Our ordinary ticket is at 20,000/=, while the VIP ticket is at 50,000/=. However, the early bird ticket is at 15,000/= and is only available physically from this time until Wednesday evening.”

Rallying supporters to turn up in big numbers, Kasozi revealed that CAF has approved a capacity of up to 17,000 fans at Hoima City Stadium, with the club targeting a full house.

“We call upon our fantastic fans to support the club on this continental mission. CAF has allowed us to have up to 17,000 fans in Hoima City Stadium, and we are eying to fill it to capacity,” he added.

Kitara FC came from behind in the first leg, with workaholic forward Jimmy Kalema scoring twice on his continental debut to secure the club’s first-ever victory in continental football.

Kitara made their continental debut in the 2024-25 season, when they played both of their matches outside Uganda.

The Royals now need to protect their first-leg advantage against Mogadishu City Council to reach the next stage of the competition, where they would face continental giants Al Ahly Sports Club from Egypt if they successfully eliminate the Somali side.
