Arsenal Defender Summoned to Uganda Cubs

Arsenal U16 right-back Isaiah Swaibu-Matthews has been summoned to the Uganda U17 Boys’ Football National Team, the Uganda Cubs.

Although the Federation of Uganda Football Associations has not yet officially confirmed the development, Sports Light Uganda understands that the Arsenal defender will join the Cubs’ camp in Njeru.

The Uganda Cubs are currently training under head coach Steven Bengo at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

The team is preparing for the 2026 Africa U17 Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers for the CECAFA Zone Championship.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Rwanda from October 10 to 19, 2026.
