BREAKING: Vipers Unveil Mwere as Third Signing of the Transfer Window
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have officially unveiled left-back Nicholas Mwere ahead of the 2026/27 season.
This website earlier reported that Mwere had agreed to join the Venoms, and the club officially confirmed his signing on Friday, July 3.
The eight-time Uganda Premier League champions have signed the versatile defender on a two-year contract after he became a free agent following the expiry of his contract with BUL FC at the end of the 2025/26 season.
Mwere is expected to compete with Enock Luyima for the left-back position, although he is also capable of playing as a central defender.
His arrival comes after the expiry of Derrick Ndahiro’s contract, with the defender’s future at the Kitende-based club yet to be determined.
Mwere becomes the third player to be unveiled by Vipers SC during the current transfer window, following the arrivals of midfielder Joel Sserunjogi and Congolese defender Jacques Mangoba.
The Venoms are expected to make further additions, both locally and internationally, as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of a busy 2026/27 campaign.
