CAF Champions League Side Chase Bright Anukani Signature
Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have opened talks with KCCA FC midfielder Bright Anukani over a potential move ahead of the 2026/27 season.
According to reliable sources, Gor Mahia are preparing a formal offer for the creative midfielder as they seek to strengthen their squad for both domestic and continental competitions.
KCCA FC are reportedly open to negotiations should a suitable offer be tabled for the player.
Anukani returned to the Kasasiro Boys in 2024 on a three-year contract and currently has one year remaining on his deal at Lugogo.
The talented midfielder endured an injury-hit 2025/26 campaign, which limited his playing time. However, he remains one of Uganda’s most gifted attacking midfielders, renowned for his creativity, vision, passing range, and ability to unlock defences.
A winner of both the FUFA Big League and the Stanbic Uganda Cup during the 2018/19 season, Anukani has consistently demonstrated his quality whenever fit and available.
Gor Mahia believe his experience and creativity could add significant value to their squad as they prepare for next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.
The Kenyan giants secured the 2025/26 league title and will represent Kenya in Africa’s premier club competition, offering Anukani an opportunity to compete at the highest level of club football on the continent.
The midfielder has also earned several appearances for the Uganda Cranes, featuring in competitions such as the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup and the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
A move to Gor Mahia could provide the 25-year-old with an opportunity to revive his career and strengthen his chances of earning a place in Uganda’s squad for the historic 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Uganda.
Anukani has previously featured for Proline FC, Vipers SC, and KCCA FC during his career.
