Crested Cranes Defender Agrees Terms to Join Yanga Princess

Crested Cranes left-back Sumaya Komuntale has agreed personal terms to join Tanzanian side Yanga Princess from She Corporate FC.

Komuntale has already bid farewell to She Corporate and is set to join Yanga Princess on a two-year contract.

The former Kampala Queens defender spent the second round of the 2025/26 FUFA Women Super League season at She Corporate after leaving Kampala Queens.

Komuntale played a key role as She Corporate challenged for the league title, although the Sharks ultimately missed out on the championship on the final day, with Kawempe Muslim clinching the title.

The left-back is known for creating chances with dangerous crosses into the box, while she has also built a reputation for scoring trademark top-corner free-kicks.

Last season, Komuntale produced one of her trademark free-kicks against Amus in an away league match.

She had previously scored a similar goal for Uganda against Morocco at the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (WAFCON), further highlighting her ability from set pieces.
