Defender Set to Leave Vipers After Seven Seasons

Experienced defender Livingstone Mulondo is set to leave Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC, Sports Light Uganda understands.

Mulondo, who joined the Venoms in 2018, is expected to bring an end to his eight-year stay at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, after helping the club win the 2025-26 Uganda Premier League title.

The central defender endured a difficult 2025-26 campaign, making just four league appearances throughout the season.

Sources indicate that Mulondo has already been informed of the club’s decision as Vipers continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.

Despite limited playing time last season, the 29-year-old remains one of the club’s most decorated players in recent years.

During the 2024-25 season, Mulondo played a key role as Vipers secured a domestic double. He finished as the joint top scorer in the Uganda Cup with four goals, including one in the final against KCCA FC at FUFA Stadium, Kadiba.

His outstanding performances throughout the tournament earned him the Best Defender award.

Over his time at Vipers, Mulondo has won five Uganda Premier League titles and three Uganda Cup trophies, establishing himself as one of the club’s most successful players.

The soft-spoken defender has also contributed 12 goals for the Venoms across all competitions.

Vipers are expected to make further changes to their squad in the coming weeks as they prepare for the 2026-27 season and their upcoming continental commitments.
